Important Day! Sept 28, 2011

So, today was a big day at the Mathews' casa.  Abby drank from a big girl cup at dinner!  This might not sound like a big feat, but this is the same girl who up until now would just put her tongue in a drink and tried to lap it up like a cat.  So, I was pretty excited that she is finally getting the hang of a cup.

And! Jack pedaled some by himself on his bike. I was walking behind him holding onto his back (because I can't hold onto his seat, my belly is too big and it kills my back) and I let go for a bit and he just kept on pedaling like a pro.  We did it one more time and then he decided to call it quits.  I am super proud of him!!!  He has been rocking his balance bike, so it is time for the big boy bike.  As for training wheels, bah, they are for other children.

August 2011 visit to Bunny's

We decided to take a trip to visit Bunny this August since we wouldn't be able to go for Thanksgiving since Butterpond will either be born or I will be VERY pregnant.  Once we got there I realized why we never go in August, it was HOT, HOT, HOT.  I couldn't believe how hot it was.  I am normally not a heat wuss, but man, I thought I was going to melt.  We all had a great time, Jack and Abby got to go to the beach and help Bunny do some cooking.  I have a bunch of pictures from the trip.

Oh!  As an added bonus, Tater was there.  It was the first time Abby met Tommy and Jack had not seen him since his 1st birthday, so it was wonderful seeing him while we were there.  I got some super cute pictures of Tommy, Abby and Randy (Tommy's dog).

Fernbank Nature Quest with Chrisy

Chrisy and I brought the kids to Fernbank the beginning of August.  The kids had a great time.  We had to leave around 1pm so Abby could nap, but Hayla and Colton stayed and played.  After they were done, they stopped by and all 4 kids played so well together!!!

A rare glimpse of Abby with her hair down

Abby always has her hair up, mainly because I can't stand my hair in my face.  So, I figured I should get some pictures of her without her hair up.  Now, this is after having her hair in pig tails all day, so it is kind of wild.

July visit to Lori Pacheco's house

We took our annual visit to Lori's this July.  Doug got to do some wake boarding while Jack, Abby and I got a boat ride.  We used to go to school with Lori and have kept in touch the last 10 years.  Doug did great staying up on the board.  I even managed to get some video!
