I made it to 40 weeks. I am not really surprised as all of my babies have been late so I pretty much expected it. My dad had a really good idea to write down how it felt to be pregnant right now so I don't forget. Last night I videoed my stomach moving, that was really cool.
I honestly have to say I am in no rush to have the baby. Normally at the end, I am going nuts as are most pregnant moms, especially in the summer with 3 kids to run after. I think I am not ready because I am fairly certain this will be our last baby. It is hard to think that this part of my life will be over. I have been pregnant and had 3 babies so far for the last almost 7 years, this is what I know and feel comfortable and confident doing. I am getting a glimpse of what is ahead since Wyatt doesn't nap so we can just do whatever we want whenever we want which is super nice, but it has only been for about 4-6 months.
I am honestly a little nervous about the birth. I remember how much it hurt with Wyatt but I am trying to remind myself of how painless it was once it was over. Well, once Dr Tate was done stitching me up. I remember that Saturday being one of the best days of my life. I finally had an "easy" birth and did it almost all natural minus the paracervical block which gave me relief for an hour or so then the contractions came back full force. So, I know I can do it. I just feel like I have dodged a bullet each time I wake up. I feel as if I am a ticking time bomb. It is a scary feeling. Any who, lets get back to how I feel belly wise.
I will say this sweet baby boy is very active at night. I am sure it is because I never sit during the day so he is just rocked to sleep all day long. Anytime I do sit, he starts moving around immediately. Sometimes when I am just walking around the house I feel a foot jabbing me in the rib on my right side I have to rub it back in. It is as if he is stretching out his leg straight. I also feel movements low down in my pelvic region. He is head down but he brings his hands up to his face a lot. He did it when we were watching him on the ultrasound. At night when I sit is when he moves the most. He will roll back and forth from my left side to my right with his big butt moving across my stomach. I have been getting a lot of contractions at night, sometimes painful causing it to hurt a bit when he is moving around and I am contracting.
It is the most wonderful feeling to feel a baby move inside of you. It is just amazing to me each time. The look on Jack, Abby and Wyatt's faces is priceless. The complete wonderment they have when they feel him move. Wyatt is my belly kisser. He loves to talk to the baby and to kiss my belly. He also has a baby in his belly but that isn't as cute as him talking or kissing mine. If he accidentally kicks me and I mention it he immediately wants to get down to kiss the baby. Of course, when he is talking to the baby it is through my belly button because how else would he talk to him?
I will say I am super excited for Jack, Abby & Wyatt to meet him. When Abby was born, Jack was so little he didn't really get it (22 months). Then coming home with Wyatt we were living with my parents because of the renovation of our house and had just moved in less than 3 weeks prior everything was pretty crazy, plus they were only 2 & 4 years old. Now that Jack is almost 7, Abby is 5 and Wyatt is 2.5 and pretty advanced for his age being the third they really get it.
I had Jack, Abby and Wyatt help me setup the bassinet today. They were super excited and after it was all setup we put it in Abby's room because she has the most space. I told her when they baby is born it will go in my room so she understands. They immediately filled it with all of the their stuffed animals. I have to say you really relax when it is your 4th. I would have had a heart attack if it was my 1st and germy kids put in GERMY stuffed animals in my newly washed, bleached and sterilized bassinet. :)
This was a lot longer than I meant it to be, I just wanted to get some thoughts out on paper so to speak. I really need to update the blog with our FL trip and Disney. I have just been a tired slacker at night with swollen hands and feet. Oh, yeah, that is my biggest complaint. My right hand swells horribly so and hurts nightly because of carpal tunnel and thorasic outlet syndrome. This is my first pregnancy to have swelling in my feet or hands, so that is new. So that is the gist of what is going on with me right now. Nothing exciting going on yet even though there was a super moon last night. My guess is I will have the baby on the 21st. We shall see.
