Tomorrow I am scheduled to have a root canal. So. After a week on the elimination diet, with Wyatt seemingly WORSE God decides a root canal would round out my week. Thanks for that.
Since Wyatt has been doing worse on the diet, I have taken out squash. Doesn't seem to help, so tomorrow I am swapping turkey for chicken. I won't mind if he hates turkey. Who blames him?

Day 4 of TED (total elimination diet)
Lets just say I am really sick of turkey. I know the first thing I add back will be olive oil. Then chicken. Then wine.

Total Elimination Diet
Ok, so since we have just recently increased Wyatt's prevacid to 3/4 a solutab twice a day and he is still having issues I decided to go on the total elimination diet to see if I can pinpoint what is bothering him. So, for the next two weeks, I will only be eating:
Turkey
White Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Yellow Squash
Green Squash
Rice
Millet
Pears
Salt & Pepper
Then I will slowly start introducing things back into my diet. I am fairly sure the first one will be wine.

9:45pm
I wonder when I am older if I will remember how I used to have my watch alarm set to 9:45pm to remind me to go to bed because I have babies & toddlers who wake up at 5:45am?
I think I will set those same teenager's watches to that same time. Only, not to 9:45pm but to 5:45am because I love them like that.

Delays
I have been promising to start updating my blog again and hope to be able to soon. Wyatt suffered/suffers from reflux and before we got his meds under control he was either sleeping (not during the day and only on someone if he was) nursing or screaming. So, it was a rough start with him. He is currently on Prevacid and it seems to be doing wonders for him. I am also wheat, dairy and soy free. I also do not eat any acidic or gassy foods. So, I pretty much live on peanut butter but I love my little guy and it isn't his fault so I have no problem doing it. If you would have told me pre-kids that he would require that I would have told you I would just give him formula. It is amazing how your perspective changes when you have children.
Not only do I have a newborn, a 2.5 yr old and a 4 yr old, but we are renovating our home and putting an addition on it so I have been slammed. The house should be done in a few weeks and is looking awesome. I am super excited although I seriously do not know how I will survive without my mom being with me 24-7.

Thank yous
So, here it is, January 12th and I really want to get caught up on my blog but I am writing Christmas thank you notes because that is how behind I am. I also got around to finishing Abby's Christmas bows today. Um, yeah. So, since Wyatt likes to cluster feed from 8-10pm I am going to try to do it in front of the computer verse up in my room so I can do other things. So far, it isn't working so well plus my thank yous look like Jack wrote them.

Blog? What blog?
Ok, so I have been extremely slack on blogging lately BUT I have some pretty good excuses:
1. We moved into my parents house when I was 37 weeks pregnant.
2. I have a 2 and 4 yr old.
3. I will be 40 weeks on Friday.
So. Needless to say, I have been busy. Oh, and I have done 3 craft shows within the last 4 weeks. So, the blogging has been down a bit. Ok, a lot. I promise to get more done. Perhaps just some pictures for now?
Before I forget I wanted to note that Abby can count to 20 and knows all of her colors. That is pretty exciting.
Jack has pretty much learned how to ride a bike without training wheels, he just needs help getting going and this is after about 4 tries.
Butterpond tricked me into thinking I was going into labor this past Sat night (Nov 5th) but chilled out, so that was exciting. I also went to the hospital October 27th due to a sharp pain (felt like my placenta was tearing away from my uterus) to find out I am already 2-3cm dilated and 50% effaced. It took many hours and a whole lotta pain to get there with Abby. So, that is awesome news.
Doug's work is doing awesome, there are so many possibilities on the horizon. Things are just looking great!
Oh! And I have discovered my life is 1000% better being wheat free, which sucks because I love, love, love bread, cookies, cake, etc. It just isn't worth being exhausted all the time, for the first time in my life I just open my eyes in the morning and am awake. I am not groggy anymore, exhausted, etc. Such a nice change. If I feel this great full term, I can't imagine how awesome I will feel after the newborn period.
So, I will look and see if I can upload some pictures in a few.

Bird's Nest Pendant
My sister, Alexis, gave me a bird's nest pendant, the first one she ever made this past July. I absolutely love it and have worn it every day since. She has since made many and has sold many through her Etsy store (www.JewelryByAlexis.etsy.com). It is such a special treasure to me and I am so thankful for her and for the nest. I love you Lex!

Ironing
I have hated ironing for as long as I could remember. I just wasn't any good at it. The iron I used was the one Doug had when I met him. 14 years ago. It wasn't until my mom came over and used my iron and told me it was broken did I realize why I wasn't any good at ironing. It helps to have a working iron. Now I see how it actually DOES iron out the wrinkles. Amazing.

Mountain biking at Yellow River
Yesterday Doug and I went for a short ride at Yellow River. It was such a beautiful day. When I got to the trails all I really wanted to do was lay down on a blanket and take a nap. Instead, I finished getting ready and put the front wheel on my bike. I met Doug at the trails and he was already out riding. After a bit, I decided to call him since he wasn't back at the truck. He showed up minutes later and off we went.
I felt pretty good on the bike, which was nice since I have only been on 2 rides in the last few months. We went on a trail that amazingly enough, I hadn't been on before. I thought I had ridden all the trails there, since I have ridden there so many times. It wasn't single track, it was really more of a road than anything else, but it was downhill and it was FAST. I loved it. I think I went the fastest on my bike I have ever gone. I just love the downhills.

Operation Night Wean
Success!
So, up until 3 weeks ago, Abby was starting to wake up to nurse about every hour to two hours, then getting up for the day at 5am. I was literally a basket case. I was a sucky, screaming, angry mom. I was logging her night wakes to implement the No Cry Sleep Solution, so I was really seeing how little sleep I was getting. It was also affecting her naps. She couldn't nap for 2 hours without waking to nurse. Then, finally, at midnight on Wed, Sept 29th, I. just. couldn't. take. it. anymore. Nursing her at night felt like nursing my dad (not that I have, but you get the picture). I went into our bed room and told Doug, I couldn't do it. He needed to go in there. He did. He sat with her while she pitched a tantrum on and off for TWO hours. He sat next to her crib, held her, rocked her, talked to her while she cried and screamed and played and then finally she fell asleep. I HATED it. Doug and I don't believe in CIO (Cry it Out), so he had no problem sitting with her. (I brought Jack into bed with me since they share a room). Then the next night, Thurs, I dream fed her before I went to bed and when she woke around 12am, Doug went in and did the same thing. Then, Friday night, I went to bed at 11:30pm and slept until 7am?!!?!?!!!? I slept 7.5 hrs for the first time since before she was born. Possibly since my 2nd trimester. I think I could have ran a marathon.
Since then, she has been sleeping through the night. I HATED it she was crying but since Doug was with her the whole time, according to Dr Sears, that isn't CIO (although, it sure felt like it was). I do wonder if Doug wasn't in there and we did do CIO, if she would have cried for more or less time? She didn't cry for a straight 2 hrs, she would ramp up and then down. The 2nd night I went in when I heard her really getting mad and just made it worse. Doug was not happy. I am still the only one to put her to sleep, but hey, at least I am getting 7 hrs at night. It is AMAZING the difference sleep makes. Seriously. It has almost been 2 weeks and she has only woken up one other time after the first 2 nights and Doug went to her and stayed until she fell asleep. Sometimes she will cry out and then fall back asleep. She is still nursing during the day and I added back her after nap nursing session (which she had dropped). I am just so happy!

Mom's night out means Abby will wake
Tonight I went over to Denise Dolan's for a mom's night out. At 10pm, I get the text, "Abby is awake!!!". I head home. Well, it is 12:02am and Abby is refusing sleep. So, I figured I would start a blog. Hey, why not?
